Shameful. Why do people have to be tortured in order to believe that torture is actually torture?

A growing lack of empathy for one's fellow man, found in current times IMHO! Really though, I feel like everyone saying this is not torture need to undergo the process to prove their point. I also feel that those who claim that such a process will produce reliable information, need to undergo it aswell, to prove that they would not just say anything to make the torture stop.
